It’s for the entire kpop reddit fanbase tbh. Some of y’all take a ss of an unhinged (frankly, mentally ill) fan’s post and then post it here with “X fandom is honestly scary”.
I have seen this with Enhypen recently after heeseung left. Were a portion of fans acting abnormal and stupid after he left? Totally. But is this applicable to every fandom out there? YES.
People want to act all high and mighty with how their fandom is all chill and cool and “we let our idols live”. But the truth is fandom is not singular and it’s made up of people. And that consists of stupid people too, everywhere. So it’s never going to be like all people in a particular fandom are very sane and understanding.
It was so funny to see honestly. Non-engenes who didn’t give a shit about enhypen before are all Suddenly concerned about them while sneakily adding how their fandom is so chill and “they would never act like that.”
Let me tell you, if right now any popular, young mainstream group’s member leaves in the way heeseung left— a portion of their fandom is going to act the same. Whether it’s aespa, bts, skz, babymonster, illit, Ive or wtv.
I see the same in the case of BTS here. People deliberately posting the most unhinged and obsessive twt/insta ss and then “this fandom is so crazy”.
