So in case you haven’t heard Hanteo just adjusted real time sales data for NCT 127’s comeback “Blingy”.
Up until about two hours ago fans were celebrating unbelievably quickly raising sales numbers, totaling 2 964 694 first day sales. That would make it the group’s biggest first day and first week sales as well as the biggest 1st day numbers for any group under SM, and one of the biggest K-pop 1st day sales ever.
But Korean fans were skeptical from the start since counting errors can happen and jumping from roughly 250k first day sales last comeback to almost 3M sounded impossible.
They were right it turns out a lot of the sales were reported multiple times and as the day came to an end Hanteo corrected it to just 518 194 copies.
That is a 2 446 500 or 82.5% drop.
I know Hanteo had some reporting issues in the past and usually adjusts some numbers at the end of the year but if I’m not mistaken that’s the biggest miscount in it’s history.
I wonder if they will elaborate on the cause of the mistake other than saying some albums were counted twice because that’s a lot more than twice!
