Hi! I’m compiling a 100 track playlist of K-Pop legendary songs with a personal criteria of 7 songs representations rule, spanning from 1st gen to 4th gen, and I would like to ask the sub’s opinions and thoughts on the most iconic 7 female and male K-Pop soloist hits.

What songs do you think are essential for someone just being introduced into the K-Pop world?

Currently my selection is this with consideration of both domestic and international popularity / impact, feel free to comment if you disagree or think there is a better song representation for the artist:

Male

  1. Rain – Rainism

  2. PSY – Gangnam Style

  3. G-Dragon – Crooked

  4. Taeyang – Eyes, Nose, Lips

  5. Taemin – Move

  6. Jung Kook – Seven

  7. ??? (No idea on this)

Female

  1. BoA – No. 1

  2. IU – Good Day

  3. Taeyeon – I

  4. Hyuna – Bubble Pop

  5. Sunmi – Gashina

  6. Jennie – Like Jennie

  7. Rose – APT

Thanks in advance! Appreciate your thoughts and comments. Also additional question, is Trouble Maker still a remembered song nowadays? I’m considering including this song in my playlist as well.
