Who are the actual PROFESSIONAL DANCERS in Kpop

These days, fans throw this term around and call anyone a professional dancer. There’s a big difference between being a professional dancer and an idol dancer. Just because someone is incredibly skilled doesn’t automatically make them a professional dancer.

Some of the idols I consider to be among the best dancers in Kpop are:

• Taemin (SHINee)

• Kai (EXO)

• Hyoyeon (SNSD)

• Jimin & J-Hope (BTS)

• Ten (NCT)

• Shotaro (Riize)

• Bailey (Adp)

• Sung Hanbin (Zb1)

• Tomoya, Haru & Yu (NEXZ)

• Ni-ki (Enhypen)

• Seulgi (Red Velvet)

• Soul (P1H)

• Justin/JJ (smtr25)

(There are many more, but I can’t name everyone here)

They’re all skilled exceptional dancers, but I don’t think all of them would necessarily be considered professional dancers.

Here are the questions I’m curious about:

  1. Who are the actual professional dancers in K-pop?

  2. Do these things make someone a professional dancer?

The above idols I mentioned:

● Have years of dancing experience before becoming trainees.

●Have participated in choreographing

●Have won well-known dance competitions.

●Worked as backup dancers

Do these achievements alone make someone a professional dancer, or is there a different standard?

  1. What’s the difference between a professional dancer and a highly skilled idol dancer?

If there are any professional dancers or people with dance experience or knowledge in this area, feel free to share your opinions.
