Reposting here because I got great advice from a reply. I’m sorry if the flair is wrong. I am not sure which one to use.
I would really appreciate some help choosing a new last name. For reasons I won’t go into too much, I need to change my last name. I am working in a field where my last name will be on a lot of things. As you can imagine, no one knows which ‘Lee” I am. Also, short last names, unless common, tend to get confused with initials, nicknames, middle names, etc. So, I don’t want a short last name. I am open to anything. My only concern is that I will get strange looks if my last name doesn’t sound Asian since I’m Korean.
My only requirements are that it is unique/rare, 2+ syllables, and not Japanese or Japanese-Korean. I was thinking of using some Korean words that have some significance to me, but I’m not very good at it so I’m not sure what to pick.
Currently, my list so far is Dokdo, arirang, and joseon. I already looked at the rarest Korean names and I didn’t like any of them (too complicated for Americans to pronounce, has bad history with Japan, too short).
I would really appreciate some ideas and advice. If there’s anyone Korean, can you let me know if these would be considered corny in Korea?

1. I am a Native Korean but I live abroad. There are not many Koreans near me, so I do not care about the “corny” part all that much (realized this as I was reading).

I am aware that these are not real last names. I said that I am thinking of using some Korean words. I guess I should’ve specified that I meant that I don’t care if they are real last names. Other countries have last names that are just words, so I thought of doing that but with Korean. (ik it’s unusual but eh)

I would appreciate it if everyone could leave some more suggestions for a possible last name. Also, I would super appreciate it if someone could give me some ideas about Korean words that I could use as last names. Maybe some old timey outdated word that nobody would recognize?
