I don’t know anyone in my situation personally, but I would guess it’s not uncommon, so I wanted to ask r/Korea to see if I could get some insight.
I grew up in Korea, but went to college in the US and continued on to work here. I’ve never worked for a 대기업 that anyone would recognize, but have built myself a career in a niche industry. I am a VP of finance/accounting at a mid sized company.
For a plethora of personal reasons, I am considering moving back to and working in Korea long term. Unfortunately my very US-specific industry is not relavent there, and I have zero Korean professional or personal contact.
My hard skills are fluency in both Korean and English, and 실무경험/관리 in all things finance and accounting in the US. My soft skills are flexibility and willingness to dive into something new, so something completely different doesn’t bother me.
Given my background, what kind of companies / industries / jobs do you recommend I look into in Korea? If you currently work in Korea, what kind of demand (If any) do you see for someone with my skillsets? I am trying to brainstorm and cast a wide net, so any ideas will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
