Hi guys! I’m curious if you’ve ever regretted buying merch and if you have, what did you do with it so it wouldn’t feel like a waste of money? this year, i bought an unsealed album because i wanted to experience having one in real life and i finally have adult money and see if collecting albums was actually for me. i’m pretty practical with money, so i usually only buy things when i feel they’re really worth it. but the album has been sitting in my room for months now and honestly, when i finally got it, I didn’t really feel the excitement i expected 😭
I still love the group, but maybe collecting albums just isn’t for me? i mostly bought it out of curiosity because i’m a broke kpop fan and wanted to experience owning an album lol. now i’m thinking of using it to start journaling instead. i’ve also been wanting to try a new hobby and spend less time on my phone because i’ve been doomscrolling way too much.
the album cover actually got damaged because my cat peed on it 😭 so i thought maybe I could use it as a starting point for journaling. for now, I’ve only tried doing something with the cover because i’m kind of scared to mess up the rest. I also don’t know what to do with the CDs since I don’t have a CD player and buying one is pretty expensive for me.
I have another album too, which is my bias’s member version and I don’t really want to do anything with that one because i love him so much. but i’ve also been trying to distance myself from the fandom a little because I feel like being a fan of this idol isn’t really healthy for me anymore.
so yeah, have you ever felt this way about merch? do you repurpose it, display it, sell it or just keep it? I don’t want mine sitting in my room forever, esp if I could turn it into something useful or use it to start a new hobby 😭
