For context, I’ve been listening to ROSÉ’s new solo album and noticed she is #25 in the world most streamed artist right now on Spotify WHICH I THINK IS A CRAZY ACCOMPLISHMENT. I wanted to post in r/blackpink but the rules are so uptight. I read what the bot was telling me I needed to include and I was so confused why it would want the date in the title for the post. I scrolled down the sub and okay I get it that people post updates to the members. But why does it seem exclusively that? Where is the fandom? I only saw a few random posts from people but it was almost exclusively updates.
I listen or have heard a lot of different groups and have seen different group subreddits and they’re not THAT uptight. Also it was so eerie seeing that… it was almost like another social media page for Blackpink… as if they needed another… For comparison, go look at r/tomorrowbytogether (random search, not my ult group) sure there’s update posts but there’s so many posts just talking about the fandom or the boys or like freebies or anything really. Sure they’re on break right now or something so there might not be a lot of update posts but still… I’m curious if people feel the same way or like what do yall even think? Am I crazy calling it eerie/weird? Where is the fandom? Do they even have a voice? An opinion? A thought?
