Yesterday,I listened to the entirety of delulu pack,which I had put off for months because I didn’t like 404 new era. 404 new era is not good,I know this song was a huge hit and widely loved but to me,it’s a poor attempt at house music and there are better songs of the same genre from the past few years.
The bsides were in fact better than the title track but when a group I don’t stan releases an underwhelming title track I’m usually not eager to listen to the bsides. The standouts were underdogs and delulu. I do genuinely wish they go down the sound of those two songs in the futute rather than their debut sound/404 new era’s.
Mungnyang was good until the chorus hit. The verses were actually quite nice but then the chorus hits and ruins everything the verses build up.
Dizzy and to me were cute but not playlist worthy.
Overall,do I think their music is bad? No. I think they need more standout songs. They lack standout tracks that people will listen and their mind will immediately go to them. I don’t even know if all the people who listened to 404 new era knew it was kiiikiii. If they want to stand out amongst 5th gen’s “monsters” aka illit,h2h and bm (who all have a signature sound) they need something that screams kiiikiii.
I like some of their music (btg,delulu,underdogs) and the members are nice (their standout member is kya for me) but I think somethings…missing in them. I will keep them in my radar tho
