Recently, the fandom has been restless especially with no debut plans showing in the Q4 schedule of SM, so fans and especially the Chinese fandom have been pushing for information about the final line up and threatening to leave the fandom.
After that, rumors about trainees leaving started coming out. The confirmed one so far is kassho as he was spotted in japan with a girl. Jaewon is rumored to have left SM too (i hope not, he’s their best vocalist 🥹). Tata and kachin are rumored to debut in a thai group next year under SM. Woolin and sadaharu are rumored to be scheduled for the next boy group probably to debut in 2028 along with seongwook and xulun. Nicholas has left too but we all expected that as he made it clear he is more interested in acting. Haruta was also rumored to leave but this rumor got debunked a few days ago, as the trainees showed up together in NCT127 concert and he was with them.
The weird thing is that they all showed up unmasked despite being trainees while NCT wish who are known confirmed idols showed up wearing masks. So i guess it’s safe to say these 8 are the final line up, and this appearance is SM’s way of telling the fandom that debut is near.
The final line up is: hanbi, songha, Daniel, hyunjun, Justin, haruta, hamin and Charlie.
BUT…that’s not all
Apparently there were 3 hidden trainees with them and speculations are strong that they’re also going to debut in this group. Reactions are mixed. Some are happy to finally get a line up and are excited for debut. Some are happy we got the members we all believe deserve their spot. But some (especially Chinese fans) are not happy about the 3 trainees (and i agree with them).
An 8 member group is already so big, 9 members would’ve been fine, but 11? Haven’t they learned anything from super junior, snsd, EXO, NCT? Big groups are trouble to manage, and the line distribution and screen time always suck. Chinese fans are already calling the 3 hidden trainees “useless members”, that’s very harsh but i agree, the line up we have right now is SO PERFECT that they don’t need more members, most of them are vocalists so they don’t need more vocalists (they only need my baby jaewon 🥹) and they also do not need any rappers we have hamin, haruta, songha and hanbi and that’s a lot of rappers, and all of them are great dancers but they already have THE Justin jay takagi as main dancer. visuals go without saying, this is SM, after all. we have seen their dynamics and personalities and they’re perfect together already, so what’s the need for more members?
I hope beyond hope that we’re all wrong and that those 3 hidden trainees are not in the line up because fans already bonded with other members and even trainees who have left, so fans are undoubtedly going to feel resentment toward them and the fandom will be divided and have many solo stans (which i HATE!).
Rumors have it that RIIZE’s Anton’s younger brother, lee junyoung is one of those 3 trainees and that he secured a spot in the group and so many people are against it and I can’t agree more, sounds like a nepo baby getting a free ticket by daddy to me. Unless he’s the Chen of this generation, i don’t see the reason for adding him. Or maybe they want to use him as rage bait and aim fandom hate at him like they did with Red velvet’s Yeri.
