Which K-pop groups have pivoted concepts and even member positions across different countries?

Groups often do new singles in Japan vs. in Korea, and sometimes that extends to the U.S./etc. I’ve always wondered how groups pivot in concept or switch out the center based on what they think will be more popular/whether certain members are likely to stand out in different places.

I guess it’s true that if a member is super popular in Korea, there’s going to be interest in them elsewhere. But I’ve also always thought that, for ex., some of the dance line of Girls’ Generation would be more popular at the front of the group than the normal center members when they did their U.S. promos like 10+ years ago. GG is also a good case study of switching concept in some ways, because I think they veered into a more ‘confident girl’ image in Japan that they didn’t fully explore in Korea.

I think K-Pop is generally less localized these days so this might not be as much of a thing anymore, but I’m curious if you have more examples or thought of other moments where companies switch things up a bit. I’m generally always a fan of moments where the dance line of a group randomly gets a lot of singing lines, or the centers are unexpectedly switched up, so I think that motivated this curiosity lol.
