TXT has been around for a while and they have clearly built up a massive fanbase while becoming one of the top groups of their gen. Even so, it still feels like they have a lot of untapped potential.
That’s probably why the way big hit is promoting them has been on my mind. It’s not like they are not getting any promo at all, or that I expect them to drop content or promote non-stop. It’s more that Bighit are not pushing as hard to grow them anymore and seem comfortable with where they are now. I also don’t agree that promo has to decrease as a group gets older. Yes, the approach may change but I don’t think becoming a senior group means they should be less ambitious.
Bts are a good example of this. For a group that has been around for as long as they have, Big hit does a fair job of keeping them visible and actively promoting them. I know Bts are in a very different league because they’re BTS and their demand is massive, but it still proves that being a senior group does not mean a decrease in creating visibility or new momentum.
Then you have Cortis on the other hand, where it makes sense that there is a lot of focus going into launching a new group and growing their audience.
Txt are somewhere in the middle, I don’t think they should just stick to maintaining what they have. They have a lot of potential and could hit another level if Big hit were more intentional about pushing them.
The western market is one example. They got a push towards it at one point, but it was never sustained in a way I think it could have been. And I am not saying everything has to revolve around the US. It was just an example of them not being pushed long-term after the initial push. There is a huge international audience Txt could reach, and I would love to see more consistent long-term strategy instead of where it was tried once and dropped.
When I look at Bts, Txt and Cortis, it feels like Txt are not being maximised that way they should be. There is a solid foundation to build on and I don’t think we have fully seen their ceiling.
Fellow Moa’s, how do you feel about this when seeing the promotions other Big hit groups get and what long-term strategy or direction will work for them?
