I want to start off by saying that it’s actually not a serious take but just a small pet peeve (?) of mine.
When getting into a group I wish people listen to songs in the album by album order instead of 50 bunch of random song recommendation, cuz I think it’s easier to get to known the range of music a group/artist makes if they listen an album from start to finish when getting to know them instead of random songs from random albums. Lately when I ask people what their favorite album is they usually just list a random bunch of songs they like without knowing a specific album they like even after listening almost 30-40 songs from that artist so I miss that these days.
I mean you’ve already listened to popular songs from the album anyway so listening to rest won’t take that much effort. One of the reasons people will be like “Oh it’s my first time hearing this song” cuz you would’ve assumed they would since they know the rest of songs in the album and end up not discovering underrated songs when they easily could’ve if they listened through albums, that way they won’t miss songs.
Unrelated but It’s also a bit sad for the same reason when albums start to sound less like an album and more like a playlist cuz albums tracklist are a art too. Honestly even when I want to get into an artist I prefer asking for album recs more than just random bunch of songs recs idk. Normal random song recs only more helpful for like first 20 recs imo.
Once again pls don’t take this the wrong way I’m not tryna police anyone it’s just a thought i had.
