I’ve been to 2 KPOP concerts, namely the Red Velvet R to V concert last 2023 and the Babymonster Choom World Tour concert a few weeks ago. Here are my thoughts:
Red Velvet – they have really good live vocals. Wendy was a standout among them, considering that she wasn’t my bias. I also realized that they have plenty of good b-sides that they performed live and they did a great job. That added Psycho dance break was also a cherry on top that showcased their dancing skills. Downside for me was that Joy was on hiatus and couldn’t perform with them, and they also had no solo performances. But the fact that I could see them putting all their effort into the performances made the concert worth it, and they can DEFINITELY sing.
Babymonster – fun performances and the crowd were all cheering for them. Their solo performances were memorable, and although there was heavy use of playback, their actual singing skills were good. Rora and Pharita’s vocals were a pleasant surprise for me. Although I still consider Red Velvet to be the better singers and performers, I could definitely say their concert was also worth going to. I hope they can keep this passion for performing going for them in the future.
In the future, I’m considering going to a Twice concert, since I’ve also seen their live concert tour performances in YouTube, and they did great, especially Jihyo. In your opinion, what are other KPOP live concert performances worth going to, and some that you don’t particularly recommend?
