In between 2024 and 2025, Lisa was experiencing a world wind of misinformation after rumors had exploded about her dating Frederic Arnault back in 2023. A lot of her achievements had begun to circulate back to Frederick as many non-fans had felt that Lisa was buying her way inside of the global music industry. Non-fans had cited Frederic’s status as a billionaire as his family is often considered one of the richest familied in the world due to their success in the LVMH industry. As photos of Lisa and Frederic had begun to circulate online, many non-fans had attributed a lot of Lisa’s achievements towards this fan despite these theories not having any proof or debunked by the people working with Lisa. Her performances at the Global Citizens Festival, Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, and the Oscars were all attributed to Frederic Arnault. Not only that but her appearances in Season 3 of the White Lotus, at the F1 Event, the front cover of Vanity Fair, appearance at the Emmys, and the Golden Globes were also attributed to this man as many nonfans had seemed to forget who Lisa was.
Lisa is a member of Blackpink who had been called the “biggest girl group in the world” by The Recording Academy, Billboard, BBC, Time, and Rolling Stone and has had a successful career as a soloist along with being a global ambassador for Celine (2020-2024) and Bvlgurai (2020-). Now all that was washed down the drain due to her former association with a man who is a billionaire and is from an extremely wealthy family. However, as soon as the evidence had started to make it into the light, the sooner nonfans had tried to burry and move on from this issue they had created. In 2024, Lisa was first female K-pop soloist to headline the Global Citizens Festival in which nonfans had claimed that Frederic status had helped with Lisa performing at this festival. However, just a year before, Jungkook had made history by becoming the first K-pop soloist to headline this festival but was never questioned by non-fans.
In that same year, Lisa had headlined the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show and was questioned why she was even at this performance by non-fans online. Just a year later, Twice’s Nayeon, Jihyo, Momo, and Tzuyu had also performed at this fashion show and was never questioned by non-fans. In 2025, Lisa had performed at the 97th Academy Awards/Oscars making her the first K-pop act to perform at this prestigious award show which was also questioned by non-fans even though Louis Vuitton was not a sponsor for that year’s award show. In that same year, Lisa had appeared on the front cover of Vanity Fair alongside other actors/actresses inside the global entertainment industry. However, it was again questioned by non-fans who had claimed that Frederic had played a part in Lisa’s appearance on the page, but the chief editor had cited Lisa’s influence as the reason why she was on the cover. Her attendance at the F1 event was also questioned by non-fans as she was seen with Frederic there, yet Enhypen had attended a year later than her and was not questioned and nonfans. Her small role in the White Lotus was also attributed to Frederic despite the director confirming that Lisa did in fact audition for the role of Mook inside of the show.
Not only that, but when she had attended the Emmys and the Golden Globes, many non-fans had attributed her attendance to her rumored billionaire boyfriend despite the show being nominated at both award shows along with other idols like Twice’s Momo and Seventeen’s Joshua being in attendance at the Golden Globes like Lisa was. In my opinion, Blinks had every right to be upset with non-fans discrediting Lisa and her achievements as despite the evidence that was shown and other idols participating in the thing, non-fans had gaslighted and downplayed Blinks and the evidence as supposedly people that are paid wouldn’t say it in public. While I don’t agree with Blinks attacking other idols that attended after or make an appearance at the same event that Lisa was at, A lot of Blinks who did express valid criticism towards non-fans, were just tired of anything Lisa and the other members of Blackpink, having their achievements downplayed or questioned compared to some acts doing the same thing as them.
