Disclaimer: This topic is not about the music that the members have released as everyone has a right to their preference when it comes to the music they like. This discussion is about the members of Blackpink being discussed heavily during their solo eras while other popular girl groups with soloists weren’t really discussed much.
After leaving YG Entertainment in 2023, the members of Blackpink had explored their continued solo success with new albums/EP from 2024-2026. Despite this there have been posts and videos analyzing the solo careers of the members as discussions about the members “underperforming” or that one is doing better than the other had been running rapid during those times. The thing about this is that there have been other popular K-pop girl groups to have members debut as soloists yet there aren’t posts or videos about those members and their solo careers/success. Groups like SNSD, Mamamoo, Red Velvet, and some extents Twice have had members debut as soloists or participate in solo activities yet only Blackpink is singled out and discussed heavily. Why is that?
