Exactly what the title says. I have been in the kpop spaces for about five years now, and all my peers who liked kpop at that time stopped after a year or so. I am so jealous of people who have someone to scream these songs with, play games, watch content together etc… I know it’s just a hobby and it’s supposed to be fun but it’s so hard when you have no one to enjoy it with.
My irl friends “endure” that I am a kpop fan and even like some songs, but I’m definietly NOT able to discuss things happening in the industry.
Also, in the country, or at least the enviroment I’m in, being a kpop fan is still seen as weird. I don’t care about that at all, I embrace the weird LOL the main problem is that most kpop fans are bg stans, and I like ggs more(there are literally no gg stans in this country), and while I wouldn’t really have an issue with that(who doesn’t love a bit of diversity) most of them care ONLY about kpop. They can’t really talk about anything else, and while I mainly want someone to share this fun with, I want to be FRIENDS with them. And when someone is so narrow minded that they only care about one thing and one thing only, that is WAY harder than it seems. I have a life outside kpop(as healthy fans do) but you can only get to know people here who don’t. (This applies only to people I met so far, 99% of the time they were like this.)
I genuinely yearn for sharing the fun I’m having with someone. But I don’t want to make any more online friends, I just want someone I can dance, fangirl and play karaoke with IRL. If I ever just become a casual fan(only after my ult, ITZY disbands; I wanna love them loud lol) this will probably be the reason why.
TL;DR: I want to have someone to fangirl over kpop with, it’s not as good alone, but I can’t find anyone in my area.
