Please familiarise yourself with the subreddit rules before you post or comment.
Be aware that being uncivil to and insulting other Reddit users will result in a temporary ban, as will posting about banned topics or using misspellings, symbols or emojis to censor words.
The Rules:
- Remember the human: don’t be (intentionally) rude, and adhere to the same standard of behaviour that you follow offline. This means:
- Be civil to other reddit users and do not insult them (breaking this is an automatic temporary ban).
- Do not ask people to troll others, anywhere.
- Be civil when discussing idols, groups and fandoms.
- Do not discriminate against or make sweeping judgements about groups of people.
- No Low-Effort Content. This means:
- Use grammar and spelling as correctly as you can.
- Don’t use clickbait titles
- Link to original sources of content. Sources must be checkable and not from clickbait sites such as Koreaboo, Pannchoa or Allkpop. Twitter/X is not a source.
- Do not use AI to write your posts or comments.
- No Unconfirmed Rumours or Speculation. This means:
- Do not post or comment about unconfirmed rumours.
- Do not speculate about idols’ private lives.
- Participate in Good Faith. This means:
- Avoid stirring up or taking part in fanwars.
- Avoid commenting just to be negative.
- If you are flagged as being a regular user of a snark sub, any comments you make about the group you snark on will not receive the benefit of the doubt.
- Avoid gloating or putting down other groups or fandoms just to pump up your favourites.
- Do not make meta posts about other subreddits. These posts often break Rule 1.
- Post to the correct subreddit. This means:
- Cut-and-paste news articles belong in r/kpop.
- Simple questions belong in r/kpophelp.
- Selling and questions about merch belong in r/kpopforsale.
- Rants go in r/kpoprants.
- Posts about specific groups and their achievements, concerts, albums and music are all appropriate for this subreddit.
- No Repetitive Posts or Spamming. This means:
- Look for recent posts on the same topic. It is not necessary for you to make a new post to talk about how wrong the old one was.
- Make sure there is no active megathread.
- Do not post the same comment repeatedly.
- Be familiar with the subreddit rules, including the banned topics.
- This subreddit has 2 banned topics. Be aware of them and do not make posts or comments attempting to spark discussion on them.
- Do not use misspellings, symbols or emojis to censor words.
