Question about dual citizenship

Hey everyone! I’ve tried looking this up and haven’t found anything similar to my situation, so I thought I’d ask here. I was going to call the US Korean embassy, but I feel a little silly doing so, at least right out the gate.

My mom is a Korean-American adoptee, and came over to the country as a child. Her American parents revoked her Korean citizenship. She had me at thirty as an American citizen.

I know that Korea has the GOAL program, which would allow my mother to restore her citizenship, not with ease exactly, but with a shorter process than starting from scratch. I also know that Korea offers citizenship via heritage, but only when the parent has Korean citizenship. I don’t believe I’ll be eligible for heritage citizenship because my mom wasn’t a Korean citizen when she had me, but if she reinstated her citizenship now as she’s spoken of doing, I wonder how it would affect the process for myself, if it all.

Does anyone know anything about this or have experience with it?
