I’ve been living in Seoul for a while now (work brought me here), and I’m kind of embarrassed to admit this… I still don’t have a “go-to” Korean BBQ spot. 😅
Whenever friends visit, they always want KBBQ (understandably), and I end up just searching Naver or picking whatever has decent reviews nearby. It’s usually good, but not the kind of place that makes you think about it days later, you know?
I’m based in Seoul, usually around Gangnam/Jamsil but I don’t mind traveling if it’s worth it. I’m looking for:
– Quality meat (doesn’t have to be crazy expensive, just solid)
– A place that grills it well (bonus if they do it for you)
– Good side dishes that aren’t an afterthought
– Not a total tourist trap
Also open to non-BBQ recs! I’ve been craving really good kalguksu or a comforting stew spot now that it’s still a bit chilly.
Would love to hear where you guys actually take your friends or family. I’m trying to build my “reliable Seoul food list” instead of just winging it every time 😂
