Lara recently just got massive backlash from Indian public because of the traditional accessories that she wore on a fashion event, It was sindoor(some kind of bindi that only married woman wear) so since she’s not married it was not apropriate for her to wear it that’s where the backlash come from.
For the record this is not her first backlash, She been called out many times by Indian public in the past for her tacky traditional outfits that doesn’t represent the culture correctly .
I feel like this happen because of her lack of understanding of the culture since she’s born and raised outside of india aka being diaspora, her knowledge about the culture is only based on what her parents taught her so it’s very limit.
Hybe is also at fault here because they didn’t bother to spend more time to recruit mainland people who’s have better understanding and knowledge about their culture.
But they fix that with saint satine their upcoming global girlgroup because all the members are mainland this time instead of just diaspora like katseye so im curious to see how they turn out when they debut later.
