K-pop seemingly being an unoriginal genre that rips off their sound from black art is a hot topic on certain online circles right now, with CORTIS usually being the target of this criticism. I have my own thoughts, but for those who agree with this, when‘s the last time K-Pop felt original to you?

I would usually cite anything from early 3rd gen groups and everything that came before as K-Pop‘s last “original” era, before BTS began to develop a more western sound which influenced a lot of groups after that. I know a lot of 2000s kpop borrowed heavily from the american R&B scene at the time too. I‘d love to hear some examples in the comments.
