i’m usually so quick to skip these, but this one caught me off guard. most celebrity campaigns lose my attention almost immediately.
the artist usually gets stripped of whatever made them unique in the first place. they just get placed in some super bright set where they smile at a bottle and act like it changed their whole life. it barely matters who they hire because every single video just looks identical. i saw this brand film earlier today though, and it genuinely surprised me. the rose was featured in it, and it still really felt like their actual identity.
the visuals, the slower pacing, the cinematic mood, and the way they used the music all matched the exact image they already have. it felt way closer to an indie music film than a standard commercial trying to shove bblab product shots in your face every two seconds. the product was definitely there, but it never hijacked the whole video. they let the band carry the atmosphere instead of forcing them to act like generic lifestyle influencers for three minutes straight.
you’d think that’s just the logical way to make an ad, but apparently it isn’t common at all. i probably won’t suddenly buy the item just because of this, but the video did make me curious enough to go search for more of their music afterward. that feels way more effective than watching another ad where everyone wears beige and laughs at a salad in a bright kitchen.
