Honestly, this list is wayyy better than I expected. It also didn’t just default to stacking the biggest names at the top, which was a pleasant surprise. I’m looking at you, Rolling Stone.

I’ve listened to about half of the albums on here, and I have to admit they’ve all been great projects that would make my personal list as well. I’m glad Billlie got a shoutout, even though I thought their latest album was one of their weaker releases. They still deserve the recognition.

Big shoutout as well for including HEART OF WOMAN because they are unique. They’re carrying the Gen 1 sound better than anyone else right now. And while they’re not idols, I can’t argue with AKMU taking the top spot. They delivered an absolute masterpiece with FLOWERING, and it fully deserves the No. 1 position. They conquered both the charts and the arts with that album.

NMIXX’s Heavy Serenade EP and SHINee’s Atmos are both in my personal top five as well, so I’m really happy to see both of them get the recognition they deserve.

Having said that, I am surprised a lot of the bigger names didn’t make the list. Though, I’m not saying I necessarily disagree with those omissions.

IVE had a huge hit with Bang Bang, but REVIVE+ was easily my least favorite project from them. It feels like their production has been on a downward trend for three consecutive releases, especially when it comes to the b-sides.

Illit scored their biggest hit since Magnetic with It’s Me, but I didn’t think the b-sides on MAMIHLAPINATAPAI were as strong as those on their previous projects.

I enjoyed some tracks from Le Sserafim’s PUREFLOW Pt. 1, but as a complete body of work, I don’t think it’s among their best albums either.

I know BOYNEXTDOOR poured their heart and soul into their latest album, but unfortunately it was a complete miss for me. CORTIS’ GreenGreen wasn’t included as well despite having their biggest hit in REDRED.

And lastly, BLACKPINK’s DEADLINE was terrible (just my take) in both quality and quantity, so I’m actually glad it wasn’t included simply because of the group’s name value.

Oh I forgot to mention it earlier, but idk why they put Balming Tiger on the list lol they’re not even idols nor are they really considered K-pop.

What are your thoughts on the list? Do you think it’s respectable? And who do you think got snubbed?
