First of all, this is a psychological and behavioral analysis, not hate, and not an attack on anyone.
I genuinely believe that Woojin leaving Stray Kids was ultimately a blessing, not a loss — and I’ll explain why.
1. Vocal identity and musical compatibility
Woojin’s voice at the time was very clean, pure, and classically trained. His vocal technique leaned heavily toward third-generation K-pop standards, which were fundamentally different from Stray Kids’ sound and artistic direction.
If you listen carefully, his voice often stands out too clearly — not in a complementary way, but in a way that feels disconnected from the group’s overall texture.
Stray Kids’ music doesn’t rely on blending or uniformity. Their identity is built on contrast, chaos, and harmony through difference. In that context, Woojin’s voice felt excessive rather than essential.
2. The effect on Jeongin (I.N)
At that time, Jeongin was very young and still searching for his vocal identity. It was noticeable that he began imitating Woojin’s tone and style, likely because Woojin represented the most “correct” or traditionally ideal vocal in the group.
That imitation suppressed Jeongin’s natural color.
After Woojin left, Jeongin’s real voice finally emerged — balanced, distinctive, and far more compatible with Stray Kids’ sound. His vocals stopped being shaped by imitation and started existing in harmony with the group.
3. Group chemistry and personality mismatch
Stray Kids are defined by their chaos, unconventional humor, emotional intensity, and creative messiness. That isn’t accidental — it is the concept.
Woojin’s personality felt fundamentally different: more composed, more traditional, more restrained.
He often came across as either the only “normal” person in a chaotic room, or the odd one out in a group built on disorder. Either way, the chemistry never fully clicked.
This doesn’t mean he lacked talent. He was clearly skilled.
But skill alone doesn’t guarantee compatibility.
In my opinion, Woojin’s departure allowed Stray Kids to refine their internal harmony — vocally, emotionally, and conceptually — and fully embrace the identity that defines them today.
