What does it really mean to be ‘mismanaged’? And what groups are mismanaged?

I feel like the term gets thrown around so casually whenever a group underperforms or fans dislike a company’s decisions, or whatever. But what actually qualifies as mismanagement? Is it poor promotion, bad music choices, wasted potential, or something else entirely? It’s gotta be the most thrown around term in kpop and I feel like everyone’s definition is different. So feel free to educate me.

Who do you think is mismanaged in kpop and why?
