Just as a disclaimer, I don’t stan any of these groups as I am more of a 3rd gen stan so I am not really biased.
Girl groups-
- Nwjns- Say what you want, but their next comeback will be HUGE. Ditto is still get 500k on spotify, years after release. So even after everything, as long as they keep releasing music, no other 4th gen gg will be able to overtake them.
- Aespa- I know this year was not very good for them as they got a ton of hate, but their comebacks were still very successful and the run from spicy to whiplash is legendary.
- IVE- They have the highest sales out of any 4th gen gg. The only reason they are third is because their international popularity is not as high as the former two.
Before yall start hating, Le sserafim, idle, itzy and nmixx are all very popular, not denying that, but they are not as popular as the ones I mentioned above. Its kinda like gfriend and mamamoo in 3rd gen where those groups were popular but not as popular as Bp, twice and red velvet.
Boy groups-
- Stray kids- I mean, do I even have to explain?
- Enhypen- Their growth surprised me the most. In 2023, TXT were more popular but now enhypen is more. I don’t really understand why tho. Like the shift happened in 2024, but neither TXT nor enhypen have had a major hit after their 2023 hit songs sugar rush ride and bite me. Can any Engene explain how did their popularity increase so much in 2024??
- TXT- I feel like their popularity is slowly decreasing for some reason even though they haven’t had any major controversy or a very hated release. Don’t get me wrong, they are still very popular but not as much as they used to.
