I’m getting tired of boring digital covers in Kpop. Too many of them are just logos, plain text or simple photos with little creativity.
If a group has beautiful covers, it’s just nicer to look at when you are listening to their music. It also makes your playlists and queue look way better.
Best digital covers:
• NMIXX:
Even when it’s not album covers, they always deliver with their digital covers. FEIFEI, Soñar (Spanish ver.), MEXE (Remix), and TIC TIC all look really good.
They are are the most consistent group when it comes to this. It just makes my playlist and queue look way better seeing their covers pop up ngl.
• Red Velvet:
My fav digital covers from them are Happiness, The Red Summer, all the The ReVe Festival covers, Chill Kill, and Cosmic (the one with the members’ Cosmies).
• KiiiKiii:
KiiiKiii’s digital covers are so aesthetically pleasing. They fit their Y2K/weirdcore concept really well.
• Dreamcatcher:
Just like NMIXX, Dreamcatcher digital covers are always consistent. Your eyes will be satisfied when you look at them.
• ILLIT:
ILLIT’s digital covers are mostly just pics of the members but the way the photos are taken, the overall aesthetics are so pretty and they match their concept.
My personal fav digital covers are Magnetic (Remixes), Almond Chocolate, bomb, Billyeoon Goyangi (Remixes), Toki Yo Tomare, and Mamihlapinatapai.
• Hearts2Hearts:
H2H’s digital covers are so cutesy and girly. I really love the designs!
• NCT Wish:
NCT Wish is the only bg with consistently good digital covers. They are the standard for beautiful bg digital covers.
Most boring digital covers:
• Almost every bg:
Almost every bg has boring album covers and I don’t understand why. Even most bg physical albums are lacking compared to gg physical albums.
No offense to any bg stans out there but I’m just not happy with how majority of bg albums look, both physically and digitally. Thank goodness NCT WISH is carrying bgs when it comes to beautiful physical albums and digital covers.
• Blackpink:
Blackpink’s only pretty digital covers are Ice Cream and THE ALBUM imo. The rest of their digital covers are lackluster.
• Babymonster:
YG really needs to fire their creative directors because their groups have awful merch and digital cover designs. Their concept photos and outfits also need improvement.
Babymonster’s digital covers are so bad especially BABYMONS7ER. The blood on the font doesn’t work and it looks hideous. FOREVER is their only decent digital cover.
• IVE:
IVE are one of my ults but their division still hasn’t learned their lesson when it comes to digital covers, even tho their merch has improved a lot. Their merch designs have gotten so much better lately.
IVE’s lightstick ver. 2 is one of the prettiest Kpop lightsticks ever, it’s so magical girl coded!
I just wish Starship/Division 1 used Junji Ito’s illustration for their Lucid Dream digital cover because it looks way better than what we got. I’VE MINE and IVE SWITCH are the only digital covers I’d really call decent from them so far.
• LE SSERAFIM:
I just wish their digital covers matched the quality of their music.
