I have been casually listening to Mamamoo for a few years and their comeback make me so happy! I don’t think I have enough knowledge to make technical comments on their talent but their harmonies just scratch an itch in my brain so right and hearing them together for a song after so long felt SO GOOD!
It’s so nice to see that even across different agencies, the Mamamoo members continue working together. They’re such confident performers and the fancams from 4ward tour are some of the clearest live vocals I have heard out of the pop scene in a long time. IK K-pop is supposed to be about both dance and vocals but I am not a dance person, so a crazy choreography doesn’t interest me the same way a crazy vocal performance does (personal preference of the type of art I enjoy)
After my favourite K-pop idol’s group didn’t wait for him to work on their new music, I was kind of losing interest in k-pop and was just planning to step away till he releases solo music. I do feel my relationship with that group became too parasocial to just enjoy music so I am happy to listen to Mamamoo from a distance without getting into their fandom, popularity, line distribution etc. and just enjoy how good their voices sound together and how powerful they are as performers.
I did enjoy The Symphony of Fxxkboys and Good Goodbye too recently since they came up in my recommendations. Fandom culture has become such that sometimes you forget to enjoy music because you’re talking about other things majority of the time.
