Going back to 2018-19, “In Your Area World Tour.” The first world tour. I feel the ones who have been there live for the group’s first tour, they are extremely lucky and blessed. Coz from what I see in the internet and the videos, it was up to the mark and pretty good. Only criticism they got was Jennie missing steps in choreo apparently. There were also videos of her saying or having repeated injuries like ankle and back. She even openly said multiple times, even in their Netflix documentary, that she is weaker than most people and gets hurt easily. But what that gonna do? Nothing. Coz it’s in human nature to give attention to bad rather than good. To an extent, I agreed too but after a point it was too much. With the constant hate and targeting, she also seemed to give up.
Now fast forward to 2022, the largest world tour by a girl group. “The Bornpink Tour.” This was the trigger. The allegations now shifted to the whole group. And I was disappointed too at some point. But, after thinking a little bit, I came to realisation.
Bro, who in the industry does the same 10-12 songs for 5-6 years straight? Every group or solo artists get to do a new project every year. But not the case for Blackpink. They had to person, and still do btw, the same 10 songs from their early EPs. Plus the 8 new songs from the album, where they hardly performed 3-4 songs from it. Members have repeatedly shaded their company YG on stage about it. Especially Jennie! The one who got most of the hate, still does btw. There’s a video of her where she says something like, “I hope we can perform more songs for you guys, if we had any.” On top of that a tour where new stop every week for a complete 1 year. Plus, genetically and physically women are much less likely to keep the energy up throughout the shows. Women are mentally delicate too. On top of all that, Jennie has said in the past that in no way the members are best singers in the world. Even after all that, they smile and perform for their fans. Why? God knows. “I guess.”
Regardless, as they say, antis are there to jump on bandwagon. That’s their sole purpose in life. Destroy the girls mentally. Still Blackpink as a group, is the least aggro-group out there. They don’t talk back to the fans (antis tbe), they don’t say anything to deny. Whenever they get a chance, they always smile and say that, “we will try to do better.”
Nonetheless, coming to the present. People complaining about them giving more energy to their solos than their group songs. Hell Yeah they would do! I would do the same! 10 Years of performing the same 15 songs, who wouldn’t get annoyed. On top they were bound by the contract back then, so they couldn’t do anything. Now they can! And they are putting everything they can in their solos. Coz they can’t do anything about the group projects.
Nowadays, every girl group has white knights protecting them from everything, saying, “this is unfair to the girl… they are trying…the company is responsible, not them…”
Where was this energy back then tho? Human’s mentally has a limit, once it gets past that limit, they are just numb to all the bad energy around them. They get used to it, live with it. Do what they do best.
That’s what the Blackpink girls are doing. If we look at the industry objectively, I don’t see the Blackpink girls getting any less stable in the next decade or so. They would still be the most successful women in the industry. They would still live the best lives. And even if they wanna comeback after 5-6 years as a group, still gonna sell stadiums. Having a huge faithful asian fandom has it’s own perks. If u want a living example, take BigBang. Even tho they are not that famous in the west, they still did sell stadium. Why? Coz every asian you meet in the tech giants, big conglomerates, all of them somewhat a fan of BigBang. Same case, for Blackpink. Groups will come and go. Generations after generations. But the Blackpink girls would stay winning, in life and in career.
Idols dream to achieve their own footing after debut, so that they can stay up financially and morally even if their group fades away in the future. Blackpink as individuals have achieved that in the span of 10 years. They don’t have to do releases every year, they have enough capital resources and ways of income to live the whole life and feed their up and coming generations. 80% of groups fail to achieve that. In todays economy, where income sources are decreasing rapidly and cost of living is increasing on a much faster pace.
So, to the antis — man move on and support your favorites. Give the energy to your favorites. That way your favorites would feel grateful for the positive energy.
