How did Blackpink get the reputation they have inside the K-pop Reddit community?

Since the discussions around the members’ solo careers are currently blowing up, I been wondering on why Blackpink are so heavily disliked by the K-pop Reddit community to a point were spreading misinformation about them is so normalized and accepted. I get that the group and its members have done some things that have managed to rub people the wrong way, but the amount of animosity towards them is so evident and normalized inside of this community. For example, a post about them receiving an Order of Cultural Merit was removed and downvoted while a post about Lisa’s solo career had managed to surpass one-hundred comments before being locked and removed. For the past two month, the group’s popularity, success, influence, and impact have constantly been downplayed or treated as non-existent by non-fans inside of this community. I will admit that there are appreciation posts from time to time about their accolades, but the way a post correcting misinformation about Blackpink tends to receive less engagement than the posts that do is extremely noticeable.

So, I wonder, why does Blackpink have such a negative reputation inside of this community?

Is it because of them gaining popularity and success over other hardworking groups (not BTS) rubs people the wrong way?

Is it because of the music or their talents as idols inside of K-pop?
