First of all, I want to make it very clear that I will never support hate. No matter what an idol has done, threats and insults are always too far. Constructive criticism is what idols who made mistakes should receive.
I don’t like how some kpop stans have this mindset that just because an idol apologized, the community they hurt has to forcibly accept those apologies. As a POC, there are some groups whose apologies I chose to accept because they felt sincere to me. But if another POC feels differently, I have no right to invalidate their feelings and they have no right to invalidate mine. These things are personal.
Usually, if a group does something problematic and I can’t forgive it, I just stop supporting and ignore them altogether. If someone else wants to address the issue and give constructive criticism it’s also okay.
Everyone has the right to process things in their own way without going to far like using threats or insults. No one, especially people who weren’t directly affected, should force others to accept an apology.
