Preface this by saying this isn’t hate!
Has anyone else had powerpuff girls ruined by a certain group?
Every time I seen that style, even if it’s the normal powerpuff girls and not the groups characters, I get annoyed and just don’t want to even look at it anymore.
I used to be indifferent about them (the og powerpuff girls) but now all I think about every time I see them is the whole drama and unnecessary hate that has been caused by a certain group.
When the colab first came out I loved it cause I was a fan of theirs (the kpop group) at the time but over the past year, it’s grown to be a symbol/style of that groups fans which we all know are extremely hateful towards any other group.
I just had to get this off my chest. I saw a whole table of powerpuff girls merch at miniso the other day and I could barely look at it without this feeling of anger coming up, and I feel that I might not be the only one.
Powerpuff girls’ image has been permanently tainted and I don’t think it’ll ever go back to what it was (within the kpop world view) – these are all my opinions, nothing official has been released/study done on this topic (that I know of).
Am I crazy or have others experienced this as well?
Edit for context: I have no experience with the cartoon, I’ve never watched anything but short clips of it and have no emotional connection to the og cartoon/characters! I’m sure I’d love the cartoon if I watched it with a blank slate/no feelings towards the style.
My feelings are more towards the style of the cartoon – the way that the characters are drawn that has me associating it with the nwjns situation.
