Babymon opinion just wondering where the groups future is

As a pretty casual girl group stan, I listen to a lot of different groups, and I’m honestly really confused about the direction BABYMONSTER is going in right now.

I truly don’t understand what their concept is supposed to be anymore, and specifically with Ahyeon, I’m getting a little worried. I just listened to her cover of the boys by SNSD, and while she’s obviously talented, I feel like the constant unnecessary high notes are going to hurt her voice long-term, especially because she’s still so young. It feels like she’s always being pushed to “prove” herself vocally instead of just singing naturally.

I also feel bad for her because she gets criticized a lot for standing out too much, but at the same time it almost seems like whenever those conversations start happening, the company doubles down and pushes her even harder into that role, like there are certain stages where she underdances further making them a little more unsynchronized .

As a group overall, I think the members are individually very strong, but together they often feel unsynchronized. Not even just in dance more in identity and performance chemistry. Sometimes the overall message or vibe gets lost because everyone feels like they’re performing separately instead of as one unit.

The new EP was cute though. “Moon” reminded me a little of “Hypnosis” by IVE, and honestly Choom feels the most like a true BABYMONSTER track to me because it captures their current group dynamic the best.

I honestly think the girls need a small break to regroup and focus more on developing chemistry and cohesion as a team. Not less talent or less live singing just more balance and connection with each other as a group.
