Hi. I’m a 3rd Gen fan in a 5th Gen world and had taken a break from kpop in 2017 for personal reasons. But I came back to the fandom as a whole in 2022 and have noticed the stark difference in how information is given about the idols we all either admire or loathe.
Now, this isn’t a post meant to call out any one fandom or incident or anything but, rather, to sorta ask, as a person who lived under a rock for nearly a decade, to not assume everyone knows what is going on all the time and then assume people are acting in bad faith when they literally haven’t heard the newest [rumor, controversy, album, gossip, etc] about every single idol group known to man. It’s tiring to get my metaphorical ass handed to me because I didn’t know [insert star] was [bad/good thing] and they as group [activity].
Assume people have lives away from the news doomscroll site and haven’t read the latest.
Mods, feel free to delete if not allowed, I just see so many people getting heated for non-issues-turned-issues over simple non-commuication.
