You are not going to marry or date a K-pop idol, please be realistic

I’m going to say something that a lot of people don’t want to hear, but it needs to be said: you are not going to end up dating or marrying an idol

The level of parasocial attachment in K-pop spaces has gotten really intense. I keep seeing people genuinely putting their real lives on hold because they believe they might have a chance someday. Going to multiple fancalls, fansigns, or send-offs does not increase your chances in any meaningful way. These events are part of the job and the industry — they are designed to create a sense of closeness, not actual personal relationships

It’s completely fine to support, admire, and even feel emotionally connected to artists. That’s normal. But there’s a line between healthy admiration and losing touch with reality. When you start making life decisions — your time, your money, your relationships — based on a fantasy that is almost certainly never going to happen, it becomes harmful

Idols live very controlled, private lives. Their relationships are often restricted, and even when they do date, it’s within circles you don’t have access to. The idea that repeated fan interactions will somehow lead to a real romantic relationship is, realistically, near impossible

Please be honest with yourself. You deserve a real life, real connections, and real opportunities. Don’t pause your life waiting for something that isn’t coming. Support your favorites, enjoy the music, but stay grounded

Being a fan should add to your life, not take it away.
