This is not me doomposting the group by the way. They have their entire career ahead of them and I’m sure they’ll be met with insane success. Mark my words,in a year from now they’ll probably be smashing. This is just a conversation that’s been going around on social media and I’d like to offer my two scents.
First of all I think it was because the songs were more chill and laid back. No insanely catchy hooks like illit with magnetic of newjeans with attention and frankly less replay-abillity. They feel much less explosive than previous hybe gg debuts.
Secondly,I think it’s because they’re occupying and oversaturated concept without bringing something new to the table. They’re occupying the same space of clean girl,natural,friends making music together,easy listening music which is something a lot of 5th generation ggs lean to but in order to stand out,you need to carve your own lane. Other groups that initially started out similarly like kiiikiii pivoted and carved their own lane.
I think as their career progresses,tuide will be able to pivot and make their concept theirs,make something that truly screams tuide. In order for that to happen tho,they need to release more music,it’s rare for artists to have their footing from the start.
So in conclusion,you could summarize everything by saying that they’re occupying an oversaturated concept without bringing something new
