As a tourist, I was doing touristy tourism things outside andong hahoe village this morning when I stumbled across a little fella outside the entrance. The little bugger was eating leaves and its water container had more foliage than liquid. I fed it some bread the first time and some chicken on the way back whilst waiting for my bus. Gave it some water too which it seemed to need more. Its owner, presumably homeless and/or in poverty lives in a makeshift shack next to its dog house and wasn’t there at all during the day. Poor thing was quaking outside when I first found him, presumably looking for them to return in the near winter cold. It was so hard leaving the fuckass dog when I boarded the bus. Thing must’ve been daft because it climbed onto the pedestal I was sitting on whilst cuddling it and just looked for me [figure 2]. I was on the other side of the road. Either that or korean dogs are racist against me and it was reclaiming its territory. So now that I’ve pondered about this dog and even bought a ‘white puppy’ pin to never forget it, I’ve been thinking; its life must be so miserable, especially with the incoming winter, what can I do to perhaps help it? I’m not sure yet but I would like to spread awareness of its situation and hopefully some tourists keep it company when they’re passing by and give it some food and water during the day so that it stops reluctantly fasting. Please check select foods are safe for dog consumption first!
