Iโve been thinking about idols whose careers seem to have been marked by one unfortunate event after another, despite having the talent and experience to succeed.
Heo Chanmi immediately comes to mind. She was an SM trainee and was reportedly considered for Girlsโ Generation. She eventually debuted with Co-ed School (messy group ๐ญ๐ญ) and later F-ve Dolls, but neither project really took off. She then participated in Produce 101, i was sure she will be in the group but the into the new world high notes made her loose again , she finishing 26th and missing out on I.O.I who became sooo popular every girl have a etablished career now
She also appeared on MIXNINE and was supposed to debut with High Color, but that project never materialized.๐ญ๐ญ
Another example is Han Chowon. She was initially announced as a member of the final lineup of IZ*ONE during Produce 48, but was later revealed to have been unfairly eliminated due to vote manipulation. She eventually debuted with LIGHTSUM, but I donโt think her career has unfolded the way many people expected after Produce 48.
I think there are quite a few idols who have experienced cancelled debuts, lineup changes, disbandments, rigged survival shows or simply ended up in agencies that failed to manage their careers properly.
