What’s the Stupidest Take That You’ve Ever Seen From a Kpop Fan?

I’m talking about dead-serious takes, not joking ones like the ones you’d find on [r/kpoopheads](r/kpoopheads).

Here are some of my examples; prepare to be amazed:

That cute concepts are inherently misogynistic, infantilizing, and pedophilic, and that all female idols hate and reject them. Specifically, they said that all female soloists/idols who have creative freedom avoid cute concepts and only do sexy/mature concepts, and therefore this is proof that the only way to get idols to do cute concepts is by forcing them to. They also said that cute concepts are only considered harmless/fun/feminist in the west because they are different from the norm ans many women here like dressing cute for themselves, but that in the East, cute concepts are only ever done to infantilize female idols, to market girl groups to the male gaze, and to portray women as weak, submissive, and powerless. Yeah. Thankfully the rest of the comments all are OOP up, but I think it’s still a true testament to how stupid some kpop fans can honestly be.

I also saw someone say that the sexualization of teenage female idols isn’t a bad thing because “teenage boys will also be sexually attracted to her” as if that makes it okay or as if every teenage girl even WANTS to be lusted after by a crowd of boys in the first place, regardless of their age. Like, make it make sense.

Also, the amount of people that I’ve seen trying to argue that Huntrix should be considered a real group and should win awards as such is just stupid. Do people not understand the concept of a fictional group being made for a work of media anymore? Just because they are voiced by real human actresses does not mean that they, themselves, are a real group. They’re not even the same as virtual groups like K/DA, MAVE: or Gorillaz, or numerous jpop girl groups in anime/rhythm games who also have real world concerts/fame/albums such as BanDori, Love Live, and Aikatsu. They’re purely fictional and only exist within the realm of fiction. Just like The Dazzlings from My Little Pony: Equestria Girls: Rainbow Rocks. Can’t believe I even have to explain this one.

I’ve also seen some fans say that they don’t mind idols saying the n-word, or that Black girls shouldn’t like kpop or try to become kpop idols and that we should “just stick to rap”. I also saw an eyekon say that “Manon is prettier than the average Black girl and that’s a FACT.” Frankly, I don’t think I even need to explain why this one is stupid.

I wonder what your stupid takes that you have ever heard of are! Feel free to share them here! I’m very interested in hearing your thoughts! 👂🏾
