“it’s not that deep”…when is anything ever deep in kpop?

Some idol/ grp collabs with an problematic western artist with a history of making revenge corn and SA?

“Oh, that doesn’t have to do anything with them, music and people are different! Plus they not everyone is aware of things going on in the west!”

Some idol states an extremely horrible western artist with multiple domestic and sexual violence charges as their ROLE MODEL? Mind you, role model..

“Oh, not everyone is aware of these things, they are busy making money and they are so much richer than you, omg get a job!”

A famous idol promotes a product from an extremely problematic country, oh!

“not everyone is active on social media and internet, they weren’t aware!”

So these idols who promote a product from an extremely problematic country, who state an extremely problematic artist as ‘ROLE MODEL’, who Collab for an entire song with an problematic artist— can’t bother to do a 5 min wikipedia check??

These idols are up to date with the latest dance trends but unaware of these important things?

When are people going to stop undermining how much influence these idols have? If these idols can take the reap of their profession— money, fame and popularity, why can’t we expect accountability?

I am not Saying that the idols need to be burned alive for making mistakes. But accountability?? Where is it?

I can literally count on fingers the number of idols who have genuinely apologized.

And to be honest, why will the other idols even apologize, if their fans will even defend felony lol.

Accountability is not important! Dance challenges and brand endorsements are! <333

It’s never too deep.

(This will probably get removed anyway, but wanted to give it a shot by posting here)
