This is Ugeoji Haejang-guk (cabbage hangover soup) I had today. ”Haejang-guk” literally translates to “soup to chase away a hangover,” meant to soothe your stomach after a night of drinking. But these days, people eat it anytime like a regular hearty soup dish (Gukbap), even if they haven’t had a single drop of alcohol! Still, I think the literal meaning “soup for drinkers” is quite fun.
