I used to be way more into kpop when I was younger, and I recently started getting more into it. I really involved in the roleplay/fan fic community in general, and I started using y/n to write stories / kind of roleplay?? with group members… (cringe ik) It’s mainly stuff like, I’m their manager, I join a girl group as a 6th member, I make a story where it explores stuff like if Garam never got kicked out, or we became friends after I met them on the street, that kind of stuff.
I told my friend about this, and she lowkey hard core judged me… My opinion is that as long as any fan of any group doesn’t cross lines with their stories (like mentioning it in lives or fan calls for example), and is able to separate the story/role play from the group (and not lose your grip on reality)… I think it’s okay. As in, if it’s not obsessive or leaning delusional, I think it’s okay in certain circumstances.
Do you read or write fanfiction or roleplay? Do you think a large portion of the fandom reads or writes fanfic or roleplays? Have any of y’all done it before? Do you think it’s generally accepted throughout the fandom? I’m curious to see what the majority of fans think.
