I know some people find it pretty basic but I LOVE this song,I could rave about it for hours. It was one of my favorite releases of 2025 and it’s still in my rotation.
I’m just obsessed with the production,it’s so delicious. That beat at the first verses that feels like a calm,careless day at the beach,the build up and the beat drops,especially on the 2nd chorus AND my favorite part:the lalala adlibs at the outro of this song. Its production is so rich,it’s exactly what I love. A full course meal to me.
Plus,I LOVED this concept. So pretty and elegant and fabulous and fit all the members. I’d go as far as to say it fits them more than their typical concept. Lastly,the music video is one of the most fun ones I’ve seen in years. The acting that went into this was actually good and I love how it was reminiscent of a messy reality show cause I love messy realities.
Overall,a 10/10 in my book. Katseye’s only 10/10 for me. It’s beyond me why they didn’t choose to follow this sound and stuck to gnarly’s. Not only does the concept fit all the members,this sound is genuinely good and would have elavated Katseye’s discography.
And it’s not like it’s not successful. It was actually more successful than gnarly. On Spotify,gabriella has 846M streams while gnarly has 545M. At this rate,this year,gabriella will probably be their first song to rich 1B streams. On billboard,it peaked at 21 and spent 28 weeks on the chart,while gnarly peaked at 82 and spent only 13. To this day,it remains their highest performing song on the chart.
Anyway,I hope their new ep has its own gabriella
