Is katseye’s music in the kpop musical genre? How would you describe kpop as a musical genre without mentioning race, language, or area of origin?

I have no musical background, but I can recognize if a song is kpop (usually). So, I strongly believe it’s its own genre of music. In fact, it’s easier for me to distinguish kpop from pop than it is for me to distinguish hip hop from rap or soul from r&b. But it’s difficult for me to pull out its defining characteristics. In fact, I’m wondering whether the Grammys should just have a category for genre-bending music instead of a kpop category. But I, personally don’t like katseye being in the kpop category. So I actually like the language requirement in the Grammy description. But it’s not a good look. But how would you define the genre without including katseye? And gg and bg create such different sounds I even wonder if they belong in the same genre.
