If I were South Korea, I’d move my $350B investment out of U.S. red states and into Europe. Here’s why.

Look, if I were South Korea, I’d be seriously rethinking this whole $350 billion plan in the U.S. right now. Especially after what happened in Georgia with the ICE raids — hundreds of Korean workers rounded up while the state is still cashing billions in subsidies. That’s insane.

Why keep pouring money into states that treat you like this? Why build your high-tech future in places where the politics are openly hostile to immigrants, foreign workers, and even science? At best, you get cheap land and subsidies. At worst, you get your people detained at gunpoint.

If it were me, I’d scale U.S. exposure way down. Maybe $10–12 billion tops — mostly in blue states like Washington, Illinois, or New York. Keep it low-precision assembly work so you still get access to tax credits. Put the real high-precision, crown-jewel tech in Europe.

And here’s where the irony comes in: a lot of these red-state areas are dominated by a worldview that’s basically “end times are coming.” They literally believe in Rapture, Armageddon, the whole thing. They think they’re going to be whisked off the planet any day now. So why invest billions to build a future in places where the locals believe there won’t be a future?

Meanwhile, Europe — especially France — is secular, future-oriented, and actually trying to build something. Educated workforce, stable policy, strong IP protections, decent wages. France in particular is trying to attract battery and chip plants right now, and they’ve got the talent pool to back it up. Germany’s another natural partner because of its auto industry.

It’s just basic risk management: don’t put your most advanced tech and your most vulnerable workers in places that are hostile to both. Put the bulk of the investment where people actually believe in building for the long term.
