I literally cannot post this anywhere, even on r/seventeen. Please do be civil and respect those who are OT11.
Like probably 95% of Carats, I’m OT13 with my bias + ult being Minghao. However there’s some weird subdivisions between fans who don’t support the whole group and it kind of has me interested into the most common ones.
Without further ado, in order of appearance: SVT’s non-OT13s
The common ones
OT11 minus Jun and Minghao: This is the most common non-OT13. I understand those who DO have this sentiment as they posted an extra, problematic Weibo post (I’m from Hong Kong) but every OT11 I’ve met was super vocal in their dislike for China line especially Minghao for some reason (like, they both posted the same thing so if you’re going to hate them, hate them equally 😭). Literally just ignore them and support the other 11, is it that hard? From my experience most (not all) HKers are OT13 but have Jun/Minghao towards the bottom of their bias lines which is understandable (laughs awkwardly in Minghao ult).
Akgaes: While not as much concentration in Sebong compared to other groups, akgaes are common for the 97z and Wonwoo. The 97z akgaes are crazy in the order of Minghao > DK > Mingyu (Minghao akgaes were sending death threats to Jun’s family on Weibo). Every member has them but those four have the most sadly. I feel the worst for DK because no matter what he does someone will either overly defend him or drag him in the mud.
The lesser known ones
OT12 minus Seungkwan: This one is REALLY stupid and is imo, not justified at all. Seungkwan in his decade long career has not gotten into a major controversy or made Koreans/I-Fans upset but some antis love dragging him and saying he’s attention seeking, and even twisting his words to make it seem like he’s a racist and misogynist. Even with that one instagram post people are STILL dragging him and then direct the blame on Hybe for making Seungkwan have the need to post that. Wtaf.
OT12 minus Dino: Man. This one’s sad. Shippers sometimes complain that Dino ruins their ships and “ruins the dynamic”. Like what? Huh???? He’s an integral part to Sebong and the members love him. I saw a healthy ship video that went every sun (6 members) has a moon (another 6 members) but they all need a star (Dino) which was SO SWEET and how I see healthy shipping dynamics in Sebong.
OT11 minus Wonwoo and Vernon: This one is basically the OT11 minus China line but to a lesser extent. Some Carats didn’t feel comfortable with them singing the curry song and there was no apology given from either of them or Pledis. This has happened in other groups iirc and I understand people who cannot support them as much but again like China line, if you don’t like them, ignore them and don’t harass them.
OT12 minus Mingyu: A very small amount of fans don’t like that he’s gotten into a lot of controversies. Mingyugate, Mingyu wearing a shirt with the same colour as the conservative party of Korea, Mingyu going clubbing, random remarks Mingyu has made over the years. Also dumb because all of his scandals were debunked and he was mostly innocent.
So… that’s about it for SVT off the top of my head. Again, I hope this fosters civil discussions about non-OT13s, but I’ll always be OT13, as they’ve got me out of a tough time like many other Carats. SVT is 13 and will always be 13!
