As someone who became a fan during covid times and have lurked in this sub since 2022. Here’s mine
I got into Idle around Oh My God era when I first saw that Senorita MV and thought Soyeon was kinda 🔥.
Then I sorta went down the rabbit hole and boom here comes OH MY GOD. Ok but 2020 kpop may just have been peak kpop imo. Whole mv had me gagged in ways I I’ve never been gagged. Then sorta lost them until HWAA and I Burn hit and I knew I found my group. Honestly the whole album is probably the best in all of kpop. Like not one of the best but THE BEST.
And then it All Happened. August 14 . I remember this wierd allkpop headline something along the line Idle has lost half their fan base. And about how the group was doomed to diaband and stuff.
That 14 month period was brutal. I remember their subscriber count was just 3.45M at the time. Then the whole Cube withdraws their case+Soyeon MTG controversy was rough . I was just barely hoping that the next comeback doesn’t flop.
And then it FUCKING DROPPED-I FUCKING NEVER DIE. All that hate, vitriol, Soyeon should quit, kookielit being a bitch. Mother Soyeon bore it all. And SHE FAWKING DELIVERED. Perfect ALL KILL. Murdered ever gg record on the charts and the arts cuz IND is their best album ever man.
No like that was my JESUS is here moment and my life felt redeemed.
This was overtly emotional. But that’s exactly how I felt that time. Man I still remember Tomboy’s 1st win at a time when I thought they were over
