curious how bands filled the void of missing members

i’ve been casually listening to kbands since the beginning but it’s my first time to actually follow one closely (Xdinary Heroes). as you all know, their drummer was recently kicked out and i am super devastated since i listen to their songs every single day (i am not kidding) and i really got this deep because of their music.

now i am curious as to how bands perform their old songs after a former member was removed? because Gunil is a drummer which is truly essential in a rock band, so i don’t know how they will overcome this one without hiring a sessionist, or a new member to replace him. also for Dragon Pony, their bassist left- another crucial role in a band.

as far as i know, Jae was the lead guitarist of day6 but i heard Sungjin worked hard to cover essential melodic elements.

to those who listened to their live performances right after a member left, did they use pre-recording of the instrument to fill the sound or just went with the void? or did they rearrange the instrumentals instead? was there a significant difference to their sound after that?

as i am writing this, i realized i’m just mourning for the potential loss of the band’s distinct identity (which i hope not)
