For the record, G-Dragon is the leader of BIGBANG and he has been known as the King of K-Pop. He is known for pioneering quite a lot of things such as normalizing idols participating in their own music, the creator of the first ever customized lightstick, becoming a brand ambassador for luxury brands, and so much more. He is also very loved by other idols, naming him as their role model.
IMO, one of the biggest reasons why he was able to have a such long lasting impact is because he is not just loved/liked by his fandom, but also by the general public. Clearly, not everyone likes him, but he is that one artist that people would constantly look out for. The fashion, the music, everything.
Mind you, he has been involved in huge scandals that could’ve possibly break an idol’s entire career— drug and multiple dating scandals. Yet, he is still striving and doing well in the industry. Maybe it’s because he’s just way too big to fail, but who do you think can achieve or atleast get close to the long lasting effect/impact of G-Dragon in the industry even after decades with numerous scandals whilst not being backed up by just his/her fans?
